Pair of Rare Candelabra
This is an exquisite pair of two light candelabra designed by Georg Jensen c. 1918. This particular pair has the early 1920’s marks and additionally has an actual “1920” stamp indicating they were made right around the original time of design.
They are an unusual size for Georg Jensen candelabra, being midway between the more common size (22cm) and the largest size (43cm). These measure 32 cm tall and 27 cm wide. The pair weighs about 72 ounces. They will take tall 30 cm candles and would certainly look fantastic on any table or sideboard.
In the last 30 years, this particular design of candelabra has only been seen by Alastair, a specialist in his field, three or four times. It is suspected that very few pairs were made as the design was discontinued after 1945.
Each light has a removable bobeche or sconce. The workmanship and detail are magnificent examples of Georg Jensen quality. The more you look at them, the more exquisite detail becomes apparent.
Price: $48,000
