When Georg Jensen was in New York

At the height of his professional success, the work of Georg Jensen was in New York, Copenhagen, London, Paris, Stockholm and Berlin. The artisan and silversmith had achieved almost instant success with his own workshops, which he began in 1904. By the time of his death in 1935, he had shops around the globe, all staffed with well-trained designers and artists.

Georg Jensen in New York was no less popular than elsewhere in the world, and the Art Nouveau silverware, holloware and jewelry created in that workshop are still a desirable, sought after and intensely collected line of merchandise.

Today, antiques dealers focus specifically on the products created by these fabulous artists, and these specialists make a point of distinguishing between the items made by Georg Jensen in New York and those crafted by his workshops elsewhere.
