Who Is Georg Jensen? Part 2
With two widowed sons, Georg Jensen took another drastic move in 1901 and took up silver smithing, working with a master designer named Mogens Ballin. Finally, Georg Jensen found success by risking everything he had in capital, to start his own silver smithy in Copenhagen. Georg Jensen’s training in metal smithing as well as the fine arts gave him the opportunity to combine both disciplines into some of the most innovative designs in modern silverware. By the 1920’s Georg Jensen has opened several retail locations across the globe.
